Born in Japan,both grand parents has Korean roots,then they came to Japan in the Second of WW under Korean colonial ruled by Japan.

  

Junior high school was the first time I used oil paint, by the time I was 20 I decided I wanted to be an artist. 

In the beginning I loved painting the essence of the beauty of people. I came to understand I could touch their story as well as their inner struggles by painting them.

Color is my voice to express these inner emotions and what I see inside.

The 2011, 03, 11 disaster had a huge impact on my life.

Someone said to me “Using language can create separation between people, please use art to cover the distance,” because of these words I started painting Fukushima face to face.

Sometimes it is a little irritating that art isn’t language, but what I see through my filter and create as a result is my way of communicating what I see in society. 

中学で油絵具をさわりはじめ、20歳で画家を志してから、「人間」を描いてきました。

それは、造形的な美しさを描く喜びから始まり

1人1人の社会の中での立ち位置や、さらには内面の葛藤にも触れていくことだということがわかってきました。

そこに自分の感情や思いを色に託し、表現を追求しています。

  

2009年のインド旅行とともに、2011年3月11日の体験は私の生き方にも影響しました。

「言葉では断絶がおきている、アートで言葉を越えて欲しい」

ある時投げかけられたその一言で、ときには言葉ではないゆえの歯がゆさも覚えつつ

社会に向き合う絵画を模索しています。

  

 絵画とは、自分で見たものを自分のフィルターを通過させて外へ返す、

私なりの世界とのコミュニケーションなのだろうと思うのです。
